COMMON PROJECTS ACHILLES SNEAKERS
Words by Matt Zarandi
A modern classic - if there were ever a pair of sneakers to define that phrase then these are undoubtedly it. The Common Projects Achilles sneakers, designed by Peter Poopat & Flavio Girolami in New York, are constructed from the highest quality Italian leather and stitched together by hand in Italy. Clean and minimal with a slim silhouette, the Achilles Original are an essential go-to pair of sneakers fit for any wardrobe. They’ll go with pretty much anything you throw at them! With an all white colourway, the addition of gold stamped numbering to declare style number, European size and colour is a nice touch to what is an already flawless design.
Founded in 2004, Common Projects has built on the Achilles success with the introduction of high-tops, derby’s and experimented with different materials but our pick of the bunch at Manners is the all white Achilles Original. Pictured poolside whilst taking a break on our recent shoot in Portugal, you can pair these with some turned up raw selvedge denim or a crisp pair of chinos and you’re all set for the city streets.
You may be thinking it’s all well and good looking great but what are they actually like to wear? Well I can assure that having worn these for the past 3 months they are. Once broken in they’re as comfortable as you would expect from a well crafted, luxury sneaker.
