We thought that we would probably get lost amongst the tourists when visiting Albufeira during peak season…well we didn’t and we were pleasantly surprised by what this charming coastal city had to offer. Albufeira is one of the most popular locations to visit in the Algarve, mainly because of its appeal to people of all ages. The main talking points are the historic old town, the nightlife (if you’re feeling in the mood) and the picturesque beaches.
The old town is definitely worth a visit, whether you’re looking for a quiet meal in the beautiful square or if you just fancy a stroll along the cobbled streets for some window shopping, it’s certainly recommended. The São João area is the liveliest district in Albufeira, it's the place to be if you fancy a late night drink or two. On the other hand, if you simply want to catch some rays and enjoy the view, the beaches along the coastline of the Algarve are as golden and clean as you’re likely to see in Europe. So why not relax, sit back and take a few snaps?
